Avenue Q Music and Lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx Book by Jeff Whitty Winner of the 2004 Tony for Best Musical About the Show Recent college grad, Princeton, moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. Along with his new friends, Princeton struggles to find a job, date, and discover an ever-elusive purpose in life. Filled with gut-busting humor and a delightfully catchy score, not to mention puppets, this truly unique show has quickly become a favorite for audiences everywhere. About Us: Foote in the Door believes in open casting and supporting a diverse production environment with the philosophy that art shold reflect the diversity of the communities in which we live. There are matinees June 2 and 9. June 3 and 4 are dark. We are looking for artists who express themselves well through comedy and music. Puppeteering experience is not required but could be an asset. She is an actress, the quintessential airhead ingenue but with lots of charisma and charm. She also plays Binaca in The Shrew. Must be a strong singer and dancer. Bill Calhoun - 20-40, good tenor or bairtenor. He is a ne'er do well actor who has a bit of a gambling problem. Is a Broadway hoofer, so he should move really well. He also plays Lecentio in The Shrew Harrison Howell - 50+, does not sing. Dignified gentleman from Georgia. Very political, someimtes played as a general or retired general. He is a little stuffy and kind of a hick and can have a bit of a Southern Accent. He is engaged to Lili Vanessi. First and Second Gangster. 40-50, any gender. Archetypuical gagnster complete with accent. Does some soft shoe in Brush up your Shakespeare so shold move well. Harry Trevor - 50+ Sings in the ensemble. He is an actor who appears mostly in The Shrew as Katharine and Bianca's Father, Baptista. He has mainly Shakespearean dialogue Hattie - 18+ They are Lilli's dresser and sings Another Op'nin and Too Darn Hot. Opens the show, so should have a good voice and charisma Ralph - 18+, sings in the ensemble, may be featured as a soloist as well. is the stage manager of The Shrew. This role can be played by any gender and the name can be changed. Stage Doorman - any age, sings in the ensemble Paul - 18+, They are Fred's dresser and are the featured singer/dancer in Too Darn Hot, so should sing and move well. Gremio and Hortensio - 18+. Actors who appear in The Shrew. They also sing in the ensemble in Too Darn Hot and The Shrew. Both are featured in several numbers and should sing and move well. Haberdasher - any age, any gender. An actor who sings in the ensemble throughout and plays the Haberdasher in The Shrew Nathaniel, Gregory, and Phillip. Any Age. Actors who sing in the ensemble throughout and play Petruchio's servants in The Shrew. Ensemble - Actors, stage crew, wardrobe, etc. Sing in the ensemble throughout. Many opportunities for small sung and danced solos along with some named roles. The roles of Frank Graham/Petruchio and Lilli Vanessi/Katharine have been cast prior to this process.
